Joshua Fury Fight Announcement

Joshua Fury Fight Announcement

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have agreed a two-fight deal, that will see them square off in 2021.

This fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship has the potential to be the biggest fight in world boxing. For British boxing this is a huge fight as it places British boxing at the centre of the sporting world and continues the resurgence of British boxing.

Joshua, who holds the WBA, WBO and IBF belts and Fury who holds the WBC belt will place them all on the line in the historic fight.

Eddie Hearn, who is Joshua’s promoter, claims that there is a “financial deal in place between the two of them for two fights in 2021.”

Both boxers will have at least one fight before the undisputed fight. Tyson Fury will have to face Deontay Wilder in the third fight of their trilogy. Fury beat Wilder decisively in a seventh round TKO victory, in their second fight on December 27, 2019 and will have to win the third fight before the undisputed fight can take place. With Fury adding that the two will meet as long as he overcomes ‘the hurdle in road’ that is Deontay Wilder.

Similarly, Joshua will have to take care of his mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev, with an official announcement still to come. With promoter Eddie Hearn stating, “They do have intermediate fights. There is Dillian Whyte as a mandatory as well, but always the most difficult part of any deal is getting two parties to agree to the financial elements of the deal.”

Hearn further stated that if Fury were to lose in the third fight to Wilder, then Joshua would face off against Wilder in an undisputed fight. But the aim is for Joshua to fight Fury in one of Britain’s biggest boxing and sporting events.
