Gloucester announce two signings
Gloucester confirmed the signings of two experienced players in time for the restart of the season.
On July 11 the Kingsholm club confirmed the signing of Matt Garvey from West country rivals Bath.
Garvey, 32, has signed a short-term deal at Gloucester. Garvey who can play lock and flanker will provide a lot of experience to the Gloucester ranks.
The former London Irish and Bath forward is looking forward to reuniting with former teammate and now head coach George Skivington. "I know George will be driving the club forward… I'm really excited to play my part in that in the coming months."
Skivington, is glad to have secured the signing of Garvey. "Matt is a fierce competitor and a true professional," the former London Irish player and coach said.
"Through with his leadership, experience and power he will be a valuable asset to us for the remainder of the season."
The club also announced the signing of Samoan international prop Logovi'i Mulipola on a short-term deal.
The Samoan international has gained 31 international caps and has over 100 Premiership caps from his time at Leicester Tigers and Newcastle Falcons.
The 33-year-old has spent the last two years at Newcastle and will join the Kingsholm club for the remainder of the season.
Skivington believes that the big, physical, knowledgeable prop ‘can play a key part’ when the season resumes.
Both will join the club on July 13 and will be available for the resumption of the season on August 14.
