Gloucester sing Argentinian International
Gloucester have signed Argentinian lock Matías Alemanno.
The Argentinian who has 61 international caps has been a stalwart for the national side. He was first capped for the Pumas in 2014 and has since been named in their 2015 and 2019 World Cup. The powerful ball carrier became a powerhouse in the Argentinian pack.
Alemanno has joined the Kingsholm club on a long-term deal. The Cherry and Whites will be hoping that the Argentine international will be able to fill the void that Franco Mostert left when he departed the club for Japan.
“Matías is a fantastic addition the squad, and I’m delighted he’s joining us,” said newly appointed Head Coach, Skivington.
“He brings a lot of the attributes we’ve been looking for in that area and we think he can continue to develop with us and compliment players we already have in the squad.
“He’s a physical and abrasive player, and his style of play will really suit the Gallagher Premiership, and we’re sure the fans will be looking forward to seeing him in Cherry & White.”
This is an addition that fits the philosophy of the club and the new coaching staff. The Skivington regime at Gloucester is taking shape with the new Head Coach filling out his coaching staff and the signing of three powerful ball carriers in the pack.
