Wolves sign right-back Hoever
Wolverhampton Wanderes have signed right-back Ki-Jana Hoever from Liverpool for a fee around £9.5 million with a potential of £4.5 million extra in add-ons with Liverpool installing a 15% sell on clause.
Wolves forward Diogo Jota is expected to move in other direction in a deal worth £45 million, but Jota has not made his move official yet.
Hoever is a promising young player that Liverpool had wished to nurture into the first team. The young Dutchman joined the Anfield club from Ajax in 2018 and made his senior debut at the age of 16.
He signed a long-term deal with the club last year but with the emergence of Neco Williams at right-back behind Trent Alexander-Arnold and promising young players such as Sepp van den Berg and Billy Koumetio at centre back limited his chance at first team action.
Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo believes that these deals are the best for everybody involved. "We did the deal because it is good for everyone," said Nuno. "Diogo was happy here but players like new challenges."
The Wolves manager believed that the addition on Ki-Jana Hoever will help the Molineux club. "He's a player that I think really has potential, has talent. And it's up to us to take the best out of him."
Hoever has the potential to step right into the Wolves starting line-up after Tottenham signed right back Matt Doherty from Wolves.
